Circu Li-ion is driving the green revolution by reusing batteries through our cutting-edge automated battery disassembly lines. We offer this technology as a service model to recyclers, micromobility & automotive OEMs. Our vision is to deploy the battery disassembly lines in a hub and spoke model around the globe to disassemble Li-ion battery packs into reusable Li-ion cells or modules, minimizing waste and maximizing sustainability. By upcycling these cells and modules into second-life CO2-neutral battery packs, we are revolutionizing the way batteries are reused.

THE ROLE

Circu Li-ion is revolutionizing Li-ion upcycling through automated battery disassembly lines designed to upcycle all Li-ion battery packs. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with excellent CAD skills, a track record of prototyping, designing for manufacturing & commissioning complex mechanical assemblies at scale.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop prototypes, test protocols, concept designs and deliver Machine Handling Systems (MHS).
Create MHS CAD design, prepare and lead concept and design reviews.
Partner with the Automation and AI teams to achieve unified design solutions.
Demonstrate a practical approach to prototype, design, and deploy machines.
Manage prototype testing to CAD design.
Support technical execution and product development with the engineering team and external suppliers.
Generate reports to support the “Make-or-Buy” decisions.
Support the growth of our junior team members.
Facilitate data driven decision making within the Design team.

Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Machine construction, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering but not mandatory)
5+ years of relevant machine design with 2+ years of mechanical and machine assembly (ideally in a manufacturing environment).
5+ years of CAD design (preferably inventor but not mandatory) of multiple Machine Handling System.
Proven experience in mechanical machine design of automated systems from concept to deployment with robotic cells, electro-mechanical assemblies, and specialized machining operations.
Proven experience in system design for medium towards large sized architectures
Proven experience in leading complex design with internal and external stakeholders.
Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to a fast-evolving environment.
Proven experience bringing a product from concept to commissioning.
Proven experience in project management of machine design, deployment, integration, and strong organizational skills to meet scheduled commitments.
Nice-to-have: Demonstrated experience in technical specification creation for RFQ, RFP, RFI (Request for Quote, Proposal, Information).
Mandatory: EU working permit.
